Proto plum I accidentally knocked off the tree when I was checking them today. The peaches are almost this size. The apples and pears are still tiny, but everything is growing well. #localfood #StarFieldFarm

Things I’ve learned: peach trees set an enormous quantity of fruit. This means the fruit won’t grow large for our eating purposes and it can stress the trees so they don’t bear yearly. Culling the proto-peaches so the remaining fruit is about 6″ apart gives better and more regular harvests of larger, sweeter peaches. Today was culling day. #StarFieldFarm
