I think this is akin to nesting during pregnancy. The more worried I get about the future, the more I turn to cooking & putting by. This weekend’s work included 10 quarts of tomato sauce, 6 pounds of peach slices frozen (for jam), another load of cherry tomatoes & eggplant slices in the dehydrator, and 7 half-pints of peach butter. It’s not that I’m anticipating the zombie apocalypse or the collapse of civilization, but having our own food preserved feels like a promise to my future self. And the hope of feeding friends & family soon. #StarFieldFarm
